Sweet Reserve Bakery

In 2017, Sumaiya Vahora ran a high-end bakery right from her very own kitchen. During the Pandemic, the demand was so great, that she and business partner Humera Rauf, decided it was time to take the current brand to the next level.

The re-brand needed a contemporary look that was rooted in their Muslim culture that also conveyed their company's goals to be creative, innovative and inclusive.

The new identity was inspired by the flow of frosting and the smooth curves of fondant. The pedal-like form of the logo reflects the 5 key natural ingredients used in their recipes. We created unique Islamic geometric patterns using icons made from those 5 ingredients, inspired by their heritage. We moved away from the pink colors and floral motifs of the original brand, and introduced a contemporary black + white palette, where the bright and bold colors of their creations were the star.

Iconography

We created icons for their five key ingredients used: Rose, Cacao, Pistachio, Cardamon and Berry. We then created patterns, inspired by the beautiful geometric patterns of Islamic Art. These were used in both graphic executions and packaging as well as in the interior space as 3-D installations.
