"La Pomme Rouge" translated is 'Red Apple'.
I promised the owners that I would not give them an "apple" logo. But after much research into the mythology, history and symbolism of the apple, I ended up cutting an apple across it's width, to reveal a 5-pointed star, a pentagram. This ancient symbol of knowledge has long been used by wise people through the ages, and there is many versions of symbolism attached to it. So yeh, I gave them an "apple" logo after all.
Print Details:
Custom Letterhead: I wanted the letterhead to feel like old French paper, with a very subtle stained-like feeling to it.
To get this effect, I first created a custom floral pattern inspired from French fabric. We then created a custom varnish, mixed with a pearlized ink, that was letter-pressed on the back of a specialty paper.
Business Cards: Front, letter-pressed apple logo-mark; Back, red metallic ink.
Menus: We printed that same floral pattern on a red velvet textured paper that was inserted into a custom-sized menu.
